topic: Learn to look at the visual display of information with a critical eye, both as producer and consumer of graphics. Create publishable scientific illustrations, produce excellent visual presentations, and become a better visual communicator. Day 1: what makes a graphic effective (critical analysis of graphics, visualization techniques, production of logos, use of color); day 2: producing a publishable scientific illustration (illustrating by hand, digital manipulation of illustrations); day 3: improving our visual presentations (curricula vitae, posters and presentations, figures in publications)
